Turbo Levo SL Kids: adjustable speed limit

For the new Turbo Levo SL kids bikes, the speed limit will be adjustable.
Note that in Turbo Studio (and in the bike manual), the model will be called „Levo SL HT”. The release to rider is scheduled for the 13th of June 2023.

To adjust the speed limit, go to “Update” and select the desired option.
Generally we recommend checking for the latest firmware directly before handing the bike over to the rider.

Turbo Levo SL Gen2: extended support

Turbo Studio offers more features for our new range of Turbo Levo SL bikes.

Beyond the usual features of diagnosing and updating any new Levo SL, we would like to highlight the following features:

  1. The torque sensor of this motor can now be updated.
    However, you do not need to do anything in particular. If an update for the torque sensor is available, it will be installed as part of the normal updating process.
  2. The new SL 1.2 motor does not require calibration anymore.
    Our new SL motor uses a learning algorithm and adapts to the rider, which means it is able to self-calibrate while riding. Hence, the more you ride it, the better it gets.

    We encourage retailers not to perform the calibration, as the learning algorithm would be restarted. The self calibration is very fast acting and the motor ride feel improves within a few kilometers of riding. Manual calibration will only be required in case a high torque sensor drift (e.g. > 5 Nm) was detected and self-calibration was not successful.

Improved event log usage

Since the error analysis is an important part of the bike diagnose, we improved the Event Log readability for you.
Remember: Before every deep dive analysis, always Update the bike first, because some of the errors might already be cleared by the newest Firmware Update.

When you go into the Event Log, you can now find a clear structure of the events split into „recent” and still relevant events, as well as „archived” events. Focus for every event is put on the guidance how to analyse and solve it. Click „Archive event” once you reviewed and solved it, and it will move out of the recent events.

We recommend to go on a test ride after every bike service, to see if events occur again.

Improved user-friendliness of Services

We made working with Services on Turbo bikes even easier for you.

If you need to disconnect a bike from Turbo Studio during a Service, the Service Action page will now stay open so that you can continue filling it in, keep adding notes and check off all phases. All this will make finalizing a Service much easier for you.

Support for Charge Limit feature

In February 2023 we introduced the battery “Charge Limit” feature to many of our Turbo bikes.

The “Charge Limit” feature enables our riders to further elongate their battery’s health. This is beneficial for battery health and recommended if you rarely use the full capacity on one ride. If you want to adjust the „Charge Limit” for your Riders, you can now also do this in Turbo Studio on the „Customize” screen for any bike that is supporting that feature.

By enabling “Charge Limit”, your bike battery will stop charging at 80%. However, on every 10th charge, your bike will charge to the full 100% for internal calibration.

Not using or not having the “Charge Limit” feature does not harm your battery. We have several mechanisms in place to ensure good battery health over usage time, such as overcharge protection and balanced charging. Long-term us of “Charge Limit” can have an additional positive impact, but it is not mandatory for a good battery lifetime.
