CLEANING GUIDELINE

Please educate all your riders on how to clean their Turbo bike appropriately. This helps avoid issues. All Turbo bike manuals also hold some cleaning tips and we have a dedicated how-to video.

  1. Never use a high-pressure cleaner to clean a Turbo bike; instead, use a wet cloth or a low-pressure garden hose for removing dirt
  2. Always turn off the bike before cleaning
  3. Remove the Range Extender battery before cleaning (if needed, clean separately with a wet cloth; remove dirt from connectors with a soft brush or low-pressure air)
  4. Close any connector covers and charge ports before cleaning or washing
  5. Avoid spraying water directly at sensitive areas like batteries, displays/control pads, electronic connectors and motors
  6. After rinsing, bounce the bike on the ground a few times to remove any excess water
  7. Use a damp cloth to clean sensitive areas such as displays, control pads and charge ports
  8. To remove any left-over dirt, use a sponge, soft cloth and/or brush
  9. Clean the Speed Sensor magnet on the rear wheel with a cloth (brake dust with metal parts can collect and cause issues in the worst case)
  10. After cleaning, open the charge ports and connectors and check for water or dirt-accumulation –  to clean, use a soft brush/cloth or low-pressure air and re-seal all ports and connectors
  11. Before connecting the charger or battery, make sure all contacts and ports are dry and clean
  12. Pay special attention to chain/drivetrain maintenance and lubing after cleaning – ideally, wait till the chain/drivetrain has dried completely
