What bikes are compatible with the Turbo System Lock?
Currently, bikes with MasterMind TCD are compatible with System Lock
What is ‘Alert Light Mode‘?
Alert Light Mode is available for bikes with wired lights connected to the Turbo system. When the alarm is activated, the lights flash in sync with the alarm sound.
How can the PIN entry screen be displayed on a locked MasterMind display?
Power on the bike to display the ‘Unlock with app or pin‘ message. Press (+) or (-) on the remote to start entering the pin.
What happens if the bike is in a locked state and a rider changes their phone?
You can enter the Turbo System lock PIN using the handlebar remote to unlock the bike. If you forgot your PIN, visit specialized.com, then sign in using the same account email and password as you use for Specialized app (don’t create a new account). Using the left menu “Registered bikes”, select the bike and then tap “View Turbo System Lock PIN.”
When you get a new phone, download and log into your app account. Turn on the bike and go to the add bike screen in the app. Click on the serial number that matches your bike. The app will then prompt you to pair to the bike. Once the bike is paired you will see the option to unlock the bike via the app or view the Turbo System Lock PIN.
Where can the lock pin be found?
On first connection to the bike, the app auto-generates a 4-digit-lock pin that the rider can use to unlock the bike via the handlebar remote. This pin can be customised anytime. The pin is displayed on the Specialized app home screen.
The PIN can also be found on the bike settings screen (‘Show PIN’)
In addition, riders can look up their PIN within their Specialized.com account under ‘Registered Bikes’ (‘View Turbo System Lock PIN’)
Can a rider register multiple bikes to my Specialized app account?
Yes, that is possible. Registering a bike in the app means that a bike is registered to a rider`s Specialized user account. By logging in with the same credentials on Specialized.com or the Ride app, a rider would notice that their bike is already listed in ‘My Registered Bikes’.
How does System Lock behave if the bike battery got removed from a locked bike?
Firstly, it it is not advised to remove the battery of a locked bike
MasterMind TCD bikes would sound one short beep when the alarm is triggered, compared to the long 30-second-alarm it would make with the main battery connected. Besides, the lock screen does not display.
Handover
What happens if a wrong email address is added during the handover?
If the email address owner has not accepted the registration, then you will be able to reclaim registration and ownership via registering your bike on specialized.com and providing proof of purchase.
If the ‘wrong email’ owner confirms registration, the rider will need to submit a transfer ownership request to Specialized Rider Care.
If the rider has proof of purchase, the Rider Care team can fast track the transfer.
If the rider does not have proof of purchase, Rider Care will have to go through the Rider Care Bike Ownership Tool, which consists of contacting the ‘wrong email’ owner.
What if the rider has not receive the confirmation email post-handover?
Riders can complete registration by creating an account on Specialized.com. They would register the bike and provide proof of purchase which then allows enabling the lock feature.
Specialized account (specialized.com)
Can a rider delete their Specialized account but still use System Lock?
This is not possible. If a rider wants to delete their Specialized account, they need to make sure the bike is unlocked.
What happens if a rider deleted their Specialized account but the bike is locked?
If the rider remembers their lock pin, they can still enter the pin via the handlebar remote to unlock the bike.
If the rider does not remember their lock pin, they need to follow these steps:
Create a new Specialized account
After account confirmation, open www.specialized.com log in with your new account, and register the bike with proof of purchase
Once registration is successful, open the Specialized app and log in
Go through the add bike process and connect to the bike
Once connected, return to the home screen to unlock the bike

What happens if a bike was registered before System Lock got available as a feature?

Where can a rider upload proof of purchase?
Riders can either upload proof of purchase when enabling System Lock in the Specialized app or they upload it to their bike registration via specialized.com.

Within Specialized app riders are unable to unregister or delete their bike when it is in a locked state. However, currently they can do this on Specialized.com or within the Ride app, even if the bike is locked.
In case this happens, the rider will currently still have the ability to lock and unlock their bike due to app caching (this is in progress to be fixed).
If the rider, after removing registration, logs out of Specialized app and the bike is still in a locked state, the rider will see a connection error when trying to connect to the bike, and therefore is unable to re-register to the bike. The rider will need to re-register the bike via specialized.com with proof of purchase and this will enable the rider to connect and unlock their bike.

During this process, the retailer will enter the bike serial number as part of the component change. The rider will need to remove the bike from the ‘My Bikes’ list in Specialized app and from the list of Bluetooth devices in their phone. They would then be able to re-pair their bike in the app. This will allow them to connect and see the lock feature.
