CABLING & SENSORS

Overview and Resources

Please refer to the bike-specific Small Parts and/or Cabling Schematics on the Service Website/B2B to look up details about cabling, bolts/screws, covers, torque specifications and more.

For later Turbo bikes, complete build animations show and explain how to install all electronic and mechanical cables. PDF schematics contain clickable links to view select procedures (e.g. dropper post routing).

Main Harness

  • Robust and reliable design
  • Delivers power from battery/batteries to motor and display
  • Features connector for internal battery
  • Features connecting cable for (MasterMind) TCU
  • Connects to charge/RE port

Speed Sensor System

Cable design and connection at motor

There is one cable design with identical motor connector and identical receiver magnet. Integration into chainstay and design for signal magnet varies.

Speed sensor cable integration

There are different speed sensor integrations:

  • Direct chainstay integration: receiving magnet is mounted directly in the chainstay, secured with a clip inside or by a screw from outside
  • Bracket integration at dropout: receiving magnet is mounted in a bracket which sits inside the dropout, secured with a screw

Speed sensor magnets

SL systems us two different types of speed sensor signal magnets. Both mount directly at the rear disc rotor for optimal reliability.

  1. Magnet for 6-bolt rotors
  2. Center-lock magnets

Light Y-Splitter-Cable (optional)

For full details about light integration, please refer to the Turbo Studio Knowledge Base article Guideline to wired lights

  • Possible add-on: 12V splitter cable for connecting front and/or rear light (S206800003)
  • Connects at TCU, as part of cable to battery
  • With crimp connectors to connect to lights (covered by sleeve to prevent short-circuiting inside frame)
    • bikes such as Levo SL and Creo SL are not made for internal routing of rear light cable
  • Output data: 12V only / 8W / 650 mA max.
  • Comes with yellow warning sticker that also reads the output data
    • WARNING! Connecting unrated lights can result in permanent battery failure!
  • IP67 protection rating
