What is a Specialized Turbo System?
All Turbo system engineering is done in-house at Specialized in Cham, Switzerland. Here, all electronic components are custom-developed:
- Motor
- Battery
- Display/User Interface
- Remote
- Speed Sensor System
- Wiring & Cabling
- Charger
All system components are designed from the ground up for the intended experience, together with the chassis.
But the systems do not only consist of the electronic components built into the bike. They include other custom elements, such as firmware and connectivity tools.

Definition of SL System
Here is a short definition of our SL System.
- We use it in all Turbo SL models. It was first introduced with Creo SL in 2020.
- The Specialized SL system offers the perfect balance by eliminating any need to compromise between power, weight, range, connectivity and ride quality.
- Regarding power amplification we say ‘2 times you’ – this system adds about 2 times the average Rider output (on top of Rider input)
